This is a Pre War Tenor Banjo made sometime at Slingerland or May Bell.  This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description
This is a tenor banjo that was made sometime before World War 2 at Slingerland.  This has a maple shell with a flamed maple neck and resonator.  The hardware is nickel.  This has a rosewood fretboard with dots.  This also has a really attractive flange which is attached to the resonator with bowtie stamps.  This is definitely a quality Pre War tenor banjo that has all of its original parts.  This has a classic folk tone and is also very attractive.  This includes a regular sized banjo case.
Condition
This has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse.  We disassembled the banjo and buffed the metal with a high powered buffer.  This was pretty dirty on the way in and now the metal basically looks new.  We waxed the wood and oiled the fretboard as well.  There is a good bit of scratching on the resonator and some of the finish is worn off the back of the neck.  There isn't any damage but there is some typical wear.  Overall it looks good.  The shell looks fantastic and the finish came to a really good shine.  The hardshell case is a newer case and is in great shape.
Set Up
This was also professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse.  This has a skin head which could be a synthetic but whatever it is the head is in good shape.  The head tension has been set and the banjo also has correct intonation.  The action is set nicely and this is definitely an easy banjo to play.
This is a classic design for a tenor banjo that was made right here in the USA before World War 2.  This has been cleaned and set up and it looks great, plays great and sounds fantastic.
