Vintage Beagle Hound Dog Ceramic China Figurine Reddish & Dark Brown & White

This listing is for a vintage Beagle / Hound ceramic or china dog figurine. The dog is a lovely mix of colors: chocolate brown, reddish brown, and white. He is posed in an attentive, alert. seated position waiting to see where you will take him. I have done my best to determine this figurine's intended breed based on my research. This listing is for the dog pictured.
He measures 4 1/2" L (paws to base of tail ) x 4 1/2" H (paws to crown of head) x 2 1/4" W (at rear paws and also at front paws).
I believe he was made in Japan. He was made prior to 1984 when we acquired him at a church tag sale.
He is in mint condition, having spent most of his life on a display shelf in my son's room. He has been very loved but it is time for us to let go. I hope he will find a new family to love him. Any and all offers are welcome.

Note: The surface of this figurine is highly glossy and as a result there are several white patches from the camera flash in the photos. The white patches are due to reflection, not damage.
