    Description

Vintage reproduction of an ancient Greek woman's head, made as a souvenir of the Freud Museum's traveling exhibition of antiquities sponsored by Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals Corp. in the 1980's.
This bust is made of resin, highly detailed in every aspect. The real museum piece was a fragment taken from a frieze, so one side has a rough flat side. It's mounted to a black wood plinth with a non-skid spongy material on the bottom marked "FREUD MUSEUM LONDON - PRESENTED BY CIBA GEIGY CORP" with a serial number that looks like "#4520".
It stands 8" tall by 2.5" wide by 4" deep, and weighs 1.5 lbs.
Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, was also an avid collector of antiquities, many of which filled his office in London. Some of them were reproduced in miniature to be sold as souvenirs at the 1980's traveling exhibition "Fragments from a Buried Past" sponsored by Ciba-Geigy. This is one of them. Get it now.
